How do you take the back wheel of a BMX. (GT zone)?

my little brother needs his inner tube changing and i said i would do it for him. I cant seem to find the quick release mechanism on the brakes though. Is this only for mountain bikes? Anyway, a video or instructions would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot.How do you take the back wheel of a BMX. (GT zone)?
Well, it depends on the sort of brakes on the bike. Usually, you can release the brakes by disconnecting the ball-end type wire on one arm of the brakes. If it doesn't have the quicker-release ball-end design, you may have to use a small metric wrench (most likely a 6, 8, or 10) to loosen the pinch-bolt, and allow the wire to release.

Most of the time though, if the tire is flat, you should be able to squeeze it through the brakes WITHOUT disconnecting them. Then after removing the wheel and installing the new tube, put the wheel back in BEFORE inflating so you can squeeze it back through the brake pads. That way you don't have to mess with the brake cable at all.

HINT: Squeeze the brakes while tightening down the rear wheel to center the rear wheel between the two sides of the frame.

Good luck! How do you take the back wheel of a BMX. (GT zone)?
squeeze the two brk arms together on the rear then disconnect the cross over cable. one end of cable is bolted in the other is in a slot with a stop on the end of the cable. then loosen the lug nuts on the rear axle and tensioners if used. then remove chain off sprockets remove wheel. reverse to put back on. go to youtube search: bmx flat repair.
